Elizabeth Boyden Obituary

Elizabeth (Liz) I. Boyden, age 64, of Johnstown, Ohio died peacefully and beautifully in radiant joy on Saturday, December 16, 2023 surrounded by her loving family after a fierce battle with cancer. She was so excited to meet her beloved Jesus!

Liz was born April 27, 1959 to the late Raymond F. and Harriet (Deibel) Boyden. She was raised in Junction City, Ohio and graduated from New Lexington High School in 1977. She was a lifelong resident of Perry County until very recently.

Liz was a tremendously vibrant woman. She was full of joy, happiness, and childlike energy. She had a smile for everyone and took time to listen, talk and pray with all. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, godmother, grandmother, caregiver, friend and neighbor. She truly did not know a stranger and was always serving. The number of hugs shared, meals served, cookies baked, lawns mowed, children watched, candy eaten, prayers said, hours volunteered, rides provided and children spoiled are beyond counting.

Liz spent her entire working career with Residential Inc. in New Lexington lovingly caring for and sharing her home with Janet, Orma, and Bernadine. She was known as a tremendously dedicated worker often serving around the clock. Liz loved spending time with and supporting family, praying, attending Mass, gardening, mushroom hunting, cooking, giving gifts, and serving anyone and everyone.

Liz will be truly missed by: her son and daughter-in-law Jonathan and Kathrine Boyden, beloved grandchildren Rosie, Carolena, Genevieve, Luisa, Frances, Felix, Harold, Dorothy and Baby Boy(due April 2024);  brothers and sisters: Daniel (Sharon) Boyden, David Boyden, Anne (Francis) Brown, Mary (Richard) Saegert, Patricia Thorne, Catherine Dickson, Stephen (Sheree) Boyden, Thomas Boyden; sisters-in-law: Roswitha Boyden, Jewel Boyden and Judy Boyden as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents Raymond F. and Harriet (Deibel) Boyden; siblings Raymond Boyden Jr., Paul Boyden, Michael Boyden, John Boyden., Scholastica Boyden, Julia Stough; sisters-in-law: Pirom Boyden, Melly Boyden; brothers-in-law: Dean Dickson, Robert Stough, Ransom Hall and grandchildren: Gertrude, Isidore, Damian, Regina, Maria Grace, and Augustine.
